2008 So Far and ModernDomainer.tv

The second year of Modern Domainer has been even better than the first. As we pass through the midway point of 2008, it amazes me to look back and see all the progress and accomplishments we've amassed. We started off 2008 in January at Oversee.net's DomainFest in Hollywood, where we were nominated for "Best Domain News Source" at the Domainer's Choice Awards. It has been a roller-coaster year in these first 7 months, with visits to Los Angeles, London, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Orlando, Paris, and Chicago. We also proudly launched our video interview site, ModernDomainer.tv, in April, which includes clips of some of our best interviews from the conferences, including Jothan Frakes, Jay Westerdal, Ron Sheridan, Skip Hoagland, Ron Jackson, and Leland Hardy of NewYork.com.

Here's where we've been so far in 2008-

DomainFest, Hollywood, January 21-23
Targeted TRAFFIC, Las Vegas, February 17-20
Domain Roundtable, San Francisco, April 18-21
Targeted TRAFFIC, Orlando, May 20-24
Domainer Meeting, Paris, June 19-20
ICANN Meeting, Paris, June 22-25
GeoDomain Expo, Chicago, July 10-12

The second half of 2008 will take us to New York, a short trip to Dallas, and a possible stop in Egypt for ICANN while we are on our way to Australia for TRAFFIC Down Under in November.

Every issue of our magazine is bigger and better. Based on our tremendous success in 2007, we have decided to focus each issue on a specific topic in the domainer community. Our April issue was our 1st annual yearbook issue, and the focus was on networking. The issue was loaded with pictures and information on countless relevant individuals in our industry and is a perfect networking tool. Our two most recent issues have covered the best blogs in the domaining community and are a must-read for anyone interested in top domain news and opinions from 2007-2008. Future special issues will cover ccTLD's, domain parking, etc.
